Before you app

Applications are always open, but are processed every other Saturday. You can apply for any character from any canon as an OU or AU. You can also apply for an OCs. Be sure to copy the correct form below when you go to write your app.

Currently there can be only one version of each character within the Bastion. That character can be either OU or AU. This is subject to change at a later date.

The character limit is currently three. You can app up to two characters from the same canon, so long as the characters do not interact in canon and would not interact within the game. Exceptions to this rule will be allowed for special cases, so if you think you have a possible exception please contact a mod about it.

If you would like to app a fourth character, you must have passed the previous two ACs in order to do so. If you did not pass the previous two ACs, then we will reject your application.

Apps will be read in the order they are posted. If two people app the same character, we will make a decision on the first application before reading the second. The only exception to this rule is in the case of a reserve, where we will read the app from whoever has the reserve first. There are no app challenges.

Please read the rules, FAQ, and setting pages before applying. Also be sure to check the reserves page and taken page.

Please finish your app before posting. Once you are finished, post your application here. If you need more than one comment to post it, then respond to your first comment to finish your application.

If your application is accepted, be sure to read all the information and follow all of the steps in the acceptance post. If we ask you for revisions, you will have 72 hours to post those revisions. If you are rejected, you must wait two weeks before applying again.

As a note, OCs will be held to high standards. Do not skimp on details in any section of the application if you are planning to app an OC.

Revised canon point: Manga chapter 86. December 6th, 2005 during the course of the Kira investigation in which Matt follows the suspects into Japan, approximately 1½ months before his canon death.

[There’s something about the possibility of never going home that doesn’t quite bother him as much as it should. Matt figures that he’d have to have a home for it to hit him harder than this—something that he can refer to as a place of comfort and peace and permanence. Or at least that’s how he’s always defined it, considering that a school full of pretentious wankers where he had a room and a bed never really hit him with that fuzzy feeling everyone else seems so fond of.

So there’s “back there,” and there’s “here.” What remains to be seen is which weighs heavier on the scale of I don’t wanna be here.

He wipes at his mouth; he keeps his eyes as alert as possible considering he’s still got at least a fifth of some cheap shit settling in his blood stream, working its way out through the occasional piss and constant sweat that tells him he’s in this one for the long haul.

Or at least until he goes back to sleep. Which doesn’t look like it’s happening any time soon.]

Fuck me. [A half-mutter under his breath; an exhalation that hardly makes it past his lips before he’s slipping the filter of a partially lit smoke between them. He doesn’t fish for a lighter, only inhales until the cherry burns even, keeps keen as possible considering that (much like “back there”) everything here can be considered a threat until proven otherwise.

What everything comes down to is the lesser of two evils. And considering that for the first time in almost seven months, he can actually breathe, this place isn’t looking so bad. Maybe it’s the air, maybe it’s the unfamiliarity, maybe it’s the fact that he doesn’t have a deadline. Whatever it is, it may just be worth the world falling apart around him.

A fucked train of thought, he knows. He mutters again to himself between drags, something along the lines of bullshite and always something before finally resigning enough to take a few steps into what he assumes is a decently populated area. Someone here has got to have more info than what he’s already dragged out of a few people, and the pungent smell of food turning his stomach proves he’s not dead.

Well.

That and the fact that his head feels like someone took a sledgehammer to his temples a few times.
