Rebuilding

Rebuilding the Bastion
The Bastion was damaged in the Calamity, and is currently not functioning at 100%. While Nathaniel can make some repairs, the Bastion is a self-repairing system. In order to bring the Bastion back to what it was before the Calamity, the player characters will have to find Cores and Shards.

Cores
Once used as power generators the World That Was, the Cores are made out of burstone infused with the essence of Windbags. They are not made of Windbags, but Windbags nest in the rocks down at Burstone Quarry. The continually produce energy and are thus warm and vibrating. They also "remember" the World that Was.

Cores can only be found during game-wide events, and the changes they make to the Bastion have been pre-planned. Characters who find a Core will be encouraged to bring it to the Monument as soon as they return to the Bastion.

Shards
Shards are made of the same material as Cores, but in much smaller quantities. If Cores are the power generators, then Shards are the AA batteries. They are part of the amulets everyone is given, and in large enough quantities they can be used to changes the Bastion.

Every time a character explores the Skyway, they will pick up Shards along the way. Monsters also carry Shards, so the more a character defeats the more Shards they will get.

If you are not sure how many Shards an exploration should get, just poke a mod and they will come up with a number for you. But in general, each exploration of the Skyway will yield about 20-40 new Shards per person in the exploration party, which can be divided up however the characters want. Refer to the bestiary to see how many each monster type carries.

Before you begin
The rest of this page details the different kinds of changes that can be made to the Bastion. All changes must be mod-approved. Once your character has collected enough shards, simply fill out the form at the end of this page and post it in a comment here. Once a mod approves it, the change can be played out ICly.

For large changes (new buildings, new world mechanics, etc.), an OOC post will be made by the mods about it. Please wait until after the OOC post goes up to play out those changes. We will let you know if the change your character is making requires an OOC post or not.

Environmental changes
New land
This change adds more uncultivated land to the Bastion by pulling in floating lands from the surrounding area. Land can be added to any quadrant of the Bastion, and will be composed of rock, dirt, and grass unless specified.

Cost: 15 Shards for each square yard of basic land, 20 shards for each square yard of special land (IE snow-covered land, bodies of water, patches of forest, land types specific to certain worlds, etc.)

Cultivate land
This changes uncultivated land into another land of the character's choosing. For example, grassy fields can be changed into farmland, or barren rocks can become forested. Any part of the Bastion that has not been claimed by a building or another person can be changed.

Cost: 25 Shards for each square yard of land changed.

Flora
This introduces a new species of plant to the Bastion. Any kind of plant may be brought, though the Bastion will ensure that no one species takes over. In general, new plants will grow where it makes sense for them to grow, so new aquatic plants will appear in the river, new vegetables will appear in farmland, etc.

Cost: 100 Shards for small plants, 200 Shards for large.

Fauna
This introduces a new species of animals to the Bastion. Any kind of animal may be brought, as long as it is not harmful to humans. The Bastion will regulate how many of each species of animal is present, and there will always be anywhere from 2 to 10 of a given species at any given time.

Cost: 200 Shards per type of animal

Weather
This changes the weather for one in-game day. Unless the weather is changed by a character, it will always be sunny and around 70 degrees Fahrenheit/21 degrees Celsius.

Cost: 25 Shards per day of change, up to 3 days in a row. You must specify what in-game day(s) will be affected by the change of weather.

New buildings
As a note, any building changes must be very detailed with information about the building's size, layout, and purpose, or it will be rejected.

Small buildings
This change will create one small building, one-story tall and with a maximum of 500 square feet to design how you see fit. These buildings can be placed in any quadrant of the Bastion, as well as on any land brought in by the New Land change.

Cost: 300 Shards

Medium buildings
This change will create one medium building, up to two-stories tall and with a maximum of a thousand square feet per floor to design how you see fit. These buildings can be placed in any quadrant of the Bastion, as well as on any land brought in by the New Land change.

Cost: 500 Shards

Large buildings
This change will create one large building, up to three-stories tall and with a maximum of 2000 square feet per floor to design how you see fit. These buildings can only be placed in the North and South quadrants of the Bastion, as well as on any land brought in by the New Land change.

Cost: 800 Shards

Items
This section includes all mundane and magical items. Each character can use Shards to create items either from their own world or from the world that created the Bastion. Please note that magical and world-specific items require detailed descriptions of what the item does.

Mundane items
This creates one copy of any non-magical, non-unique items that are small enough to be picked up.

Cost: 50-70 Shards, depending on the complexity of the item

Unique items
This creates one copy of any non-magical, unique items that are small enough to be picked up. This would be the change necessary for a character's personal items from home.

Cost: 80-100 Shards, depending on the complexity of the item

Large items
This creates one copy of any non-magical item that is too big to be picked up, but is smaller than a small building.

Cost: 200 Shards

Magical items
This creates one copy of any magical item that is small enough to be picked up. Please note that mods have the right to refuse any item with game-breaking powers.

Cost: 300 Shards

Big magical items
This creates one copy of any magical item that is too big to be picked up, but is smaller than a small building. Please note that mods have the right to refuse any item with game-breaking powers.

Cost: 400 Shards

Game mechanic changes
This section covers any changes to the Bastion that would alter what characters can do or how the Bastion itself behaves. Please note that mods have the right to refuse any changes that would alter the Bastion in game-breaking ways.

New ability (individual)
This change gives a new ability to an individual character. Said ability is connected to the character's amulet, and is subject to power limitations. See the (ABILITIES) section for more details.

Cost: 150 Shards

New talent (individual)
Normally it takes years of training to master a new weapon or profession. This change will allow a character to instantly learn the basics of whatever mundane skill they want. Said talent is connected to the character's amulet.

Cost: 100 Shards, for 'beginner's skill', 200 Shards for 'average skill', 300 Shards for 'master-level skill'

New rule (Bastion)
This adds a new 'rule' to the Bastion's protocol. For example, a character could change it so that vegetables planted in one specific field grow at twice the rate of any other field, or a character might change it so that characters can walk on the clouds around the Bastion. Any changes to the Bastion will be heavily moderated, and will only affect characters within the Bastion itself. Please discuss this with a mod beforehand!

Cost: 1,000+ Shards

New enemy type
This will cause the Bastion to release a new type of enemy into the wilds of the Skyway. Each time this change is used, approximately 30 of the new type of enemy will be created. Any enemy created will need to have all of the data from the (MONSTER PAGE) to be accepted.

Cost: 300-500 Shards, depending on the type of monster.

Other changes
If you can think of another type of change that doesn't fit into any of the other categories, fill out the form with your idea and a mod will tell you if it is feasible or not. We welcome creativity, so don't feel limited by what you see here. These are more of guidelines than set rules.

The form
Please fill out the form in it's entirety and post it as a comment to this page. We will try to get back to you as soon as possible.

Change: Three books from Skyrim, all translated into English, and all three with the handsome leather bindings and bookmark ribbons that one expects of tomes from a fantasy world.

Fundaments of Alchemy - A book from Skyrim's predecessor game, Oblivion, explaining the basics of Tamrielic alchemy. I'm assuming that the real version contains far more text than the in-game version. It can also be assumed that despite the changes in game mechanics between Oblivion and Skyrim the actual workings of alchemy have not changed in the intervening 200 years, so the contents should still be relevant.

Herbalist's Guide to Skyrim - An illustrated guide to several alchemy ingredients found in Skyrim. I'm assuming that the real version contains far more text than the in-game version. I'm also assuming that it contains information on more than just eight ingredients.

De Rerum Dirennis - A book from Skyrim, once again assumedly with more text than the in-game version.

Change: Ginger plants! Both for medicinal and culinary use. Nothing magical about them other than they're growing in the Bastion.
Also chamomile, for the same reason. Again, not magical, just plants.

In addition, a mundane copy of one of his herbology books from the house in the yokai realm. The originals are presumably magic like the other book, but only because the text appears when he turns the page so a regular print copy would be just fine.

Change: A somewhat large recuperacoon, big enough for two to three trolls depending on how close they're willing to get. It's the typical 'bed' of trolls and usually shaped oddly like a bug or a cocoon with a hole of varying sizes to sit or lay within in the coon.. It usually contains sopor slime which soothes nightmares and aids sleep. And if eaten can have a 'stoned' effect. Not that it will be eaten. If I need to buy that separately, I can do so!

Change: A pokemon grotto!

Colin wants to introduce a large, natural grotto into the back of the daycare. It is a large pond, fed by an inlet from the river, with a great deal of fun things for the pokemon to enjoy.

There are plenty of leafy jungle plants to seek shade under, an eight foot waterfall, and a large, natural stone water-slide.

All in all, it's meant to be a place where any pokemon can frolic and have fun, and where water and grass types especially can thrive. Fire types may not enjoy it all that much, though... Additionally, it's designed to be its own self-sustaining eco-system, and will require hardly any maintenance in order to operate.

Name: Megaera D'Ashland
Change: Ice Cream Parlor!

Specifically, Megaera's going to add a small building near the library, with a magically-assisted ice cream parlor in a style from the human cities of her world. One freezer contains the signature component, namely twenty three-gallon tubs of different flavors of ice cream fill back up at sunrise and sunset each day; ten are typical flavors, while the other ten run various 'specials' which change every few days. Anyone from a world where ice cream is a thing may find favorite flavors from their region in the specials one day, only for them to be gone the next.

In addition, the building itself has the various and sundry equipment and supplies - cones, bowls, spoons, scoops - needed to serve ice cream to people, and has lighting, sinks, and a bathroom. Tables and chairs are also handy. Everything's positioned so that anyone can come in and just take some ice cream.

Day: 297 - specifically in the middle of her thread with Zuko here.

Cost: Big Magical Item (the ice cream freezer itself) for 400, plus one small building (400 square feet) to house everything for 300, totals out to 700 shards.

Change: Thirty five square yards of swampland, directly southeast of the dragon field on the other side of the mountains. While there are areas that are safe for humans to walk over, there is a lot of swampy water that a large creature like Mitellux could use to hide (or stalk people).

In the waters of the new land is an underwater passageway that leads up into a cave in the mountains that the new land is adjacent to. The cave itself is not submerged, and is approximately 500 square feet.

Day: 301, sometime after Mitellux first arrives to the Bastion
Cost:
700 for the 35 square yards of swampland, 300 shards for the "small house" that is the 500 square feet of cave

Change: The Skyrim cultivar of Wheat. Used in Tamrielic Alchemy, these have the effects of Restore Health, Fortify Health, Damage Stamina Regeneration, and Lingering Damage Magicka. Rob will specify that they be placed in the eastern portions of the Bastion to limit cross-pollination with the regular non-alchemical wheat, just in case that'll cause problems.

A scroll containing a list of all alchemy ingredients in all Elder Scrolls games, each with the source of the ingredient and all of its effects, with their respective game's icons for said effects. Following that list, the scroll also contains a list of all books in all Elder Scrolls games, each with a one- or two-sentence description of its contents. All text is in English. Basically go to one of the ingredient or book lists on UESP and you'll get what this looks like. The scroll itself is of the highest-quality materials and craftsmanship and comes in a handsome case, looking for all the world like it could have been written in Medieval times when in actuality it's basically a few pages torn from some walkthroughs.

Change: Seven species of trees: white birch, cork oak, sugar maple, black locust, European beech, Sitka spruce, and white cedar. The ranges of the trees have been defined so that they will only appear in specific areas of the eastern and northeastern Bastion to form a forest, with the white birch, cork oak, sugar maple, black locust, and European beech mixed together on the flat areas and the Sitka spruce and white cedar mixed on the hills, with appropriate transition to make it look mostly natural. Most of the trees are at the minimum age or younger for their optimal production and harvesting so they can be used right away, though there are a few older examples of each species scattered throughout. Most notably, a number of the Sitka spruces are at their maximum size already: 300 feet tall and 15 feet in diameter at breast height. There are small trails and clearings throughout the forest, most of the clearings being around previously-created plants so as not to starve them of light, as well as three larger clearings with wider trails leading to them: one around the phonebooth, one leading up to a cliff face, and one next to the river (which Rob will be laying claim to once he sees it). Away from the trails the canopy closes in overhead to block the light and the trunks of the trees line up to block the view, making it possible to actually get lost despite the forest not being that big.

They should be able to be found around the Bastion fairly easily. He's not going to be very specific with where he puts them, though the Gleamblossom will be found more easily in the cave and the Swamp Fungal Pods would be found in... the swamp.

Change: A portable cordless saw kit. This is the kind of tool that a handyman would drool over (then faint when they see the price tag). It comes in a durable carrying case that doubles as a solar and regular charger for it, containing a high-powered saw and attachments that allow it to perform nearly any cutting task, from turning logs into planks to cutting out intricate pieces of trim, and just about everything in-between. It may not be the best or most convenient tool for a task, and certainly additional tools will be required for many things, but it's versatile enough to substitute for a good chunk of a workshop on its own.

Change: The black blade, a weapon she had in the OVA. It's an Otherworld artifact, so I'm going with it being a 'magical' item in the D&D sense of potentially being able to damage what more mundanes weapons cannot. Exceptional hardness, requires very little maintenance. Appearances would suggest it's just a regular sword, though it might have a particular 'feel' about it.
Day: I would need the item in her possession before Day 322; I'm thinking either Day 319 or Day 320, whichever ends up working better.

Change: A bag of holding, a container larger on the inside than the outside. It can hold up to 250 pounds, but no matter how much it contains it always weighs as much as an empty bag would, and if one wishes to retrieve a specific object said object will be the first thing that their hand touches when they reach inside. No matter what position it's put in, the flap will never open and nothing will ever fall out unless the user wishes things to, nor will the bag fall off of the owner by accident. Aesthetically, it's made to look like this bag, with all the apparent wear and tear in the image despite being new. The feather and the ring are not included, but the hole for the ring is still present. The bag's strap is long enough that it can be worn over the shoulder if one doesn't have a giant belt to hang it from. Despite apparently being made of worn leather, the bag is as close to indestructible as the Monument will make it.

Change: Addition of flora, Rose's magic moss. It is a species of moss that does tend to get a little out of control if Rose isn't about to tend to it, which is why she will be placing it around her house in the Bastion rather than letting it grow wild wherever it pleases.
Day: 332
Cost: 800 shards for 4 "flats" of the moss that she will take and plant around her house.

Change: Magical item, Rose's Sword. Rose can summon her shield, but as a non-summon item the sword was left behind. The sword doesn't have any magical powers on it's own, save for being a very old blade that hasn't seemed to aged or dulled in the thousands of years Rose has owned it. She can and has been making due with just her shield out on the Skyway (hence where all the saved up shards came from) but would feel more comfortable having her sword as well.

Day: 321 (SUPER BACKDATE)
Cost: Let's say... 600 shards? Definitely a bulk, large purchase. This purchase is using Crona's shards.

Change: Half a dozen Kirlean cameras, separate technology from the surveillance cameras Colin's buying. Kirlean cameras are capable of capturing auras in such a manner as to make them visible. As such, the paranormal community has come to use these tools to recognize the presence of spirits, possessions, and telepathic mind control. Based on older technology, Colin's Kirlean cameras use advanced techniques to enable video recording rather than still images.
Day: 321 (SUPER BACKDATE)
Cost: 200 Shards. This purchase is using Crona's shards.

Change: Two monitoring stations - consoles with several display screens and speakers to monitor the cameras and microphones. One will be for the use of the Bastion as a whole, one will be for Colin's personal use.
Day: 321 (SUPER BACKDATE)
Cost: 400 shards, 200 per console. This purchase is using Crona's shards.

Change: A fire-fighting setup for the Bastion. This change will put a network of piping, hydrants, and hoses throughout the Bastion to allow residents to have a fighting chance of knocking down any fires that may break out. There will also be a large reservoir for water in case there needs to be any prolonged firefighting. Finally, the main Hydrant for this system will be located near the monument, and will be adorned with a plaque reading "In case of Anya."
Day: 321 (SUPER BACKDATE)
Cost: 800 shards, this definitely qualifies as a large building given the scope of being spread throughout the Bastion. This purchase is using Crona's shards.

Name: Colin Starfury
Change: Full suit of Carbon Nanoweave Armor: Armor made of woven threads of carbon, Carbonan Armor is basically akin to wearing diamonds like you'd wear an every day shirt. The armor is highly defensive, capable of stopping sniper rifle rounds with little harm to the wearer, and is capable of shielding against high levels of heat before failing. It is powered armor, offering strength augmentation throughout the weave such that its weight is completely negligible to the wearer. Carbonan armor is as comfortable to wear as every day clothing, and does not require underarmor padding.
Colin's armor will be colored Navy Blue and Black with Gold Trim, resembling a Corsican military bodysuit.
Day: 326 (Backdate)
Cost: 300 Shards, basically a unique magical item in that sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

Change: A foundry. With Colin's upcoming defensive fortifications, he realizes he's going to need a place to produce ammunition, armor, and spare parts in bulk. The foundry he is requesting will be a single story building located right next to his workshop, separated only by a couple of feet and sharing a loading dock to make moving material between the store room and the foundry easy.
The foundry will be mostly automated once Colin sets up production queues. There will also be warning signs plastered all along the outside of the building warning of danger. Anyone entering the foundry without knowing what they're doing is at serious risk of injury or death. The warning signs will be in English, Japanese, Caelondian, and will be accompanied with pictograms displaying heat, crush, and electrocution warnings.
The doors to the foundry will remain locked most of the time, and entry will require a key and a passcode.
Day: 326 (Backdate)
Cost: 300 Shards, small building

Change: A two story safe house. With the reveal of an opposing force willing to kill, Colin is suspicious that the Bastion may soon come under attack. The Bastion has many people willing to fight for it, but those that cannot would need someplace to seek shelter during an attack. The safe house is meant to fill that need, and it is located adjacent to the hospital.
The safe house will be fortified against intrusion, with a door that will require two keys to lock and to open from the inside. The first floor will contain a kitchen area, a communal rec room with board games, books, and a music player loaded with several cultures' music, and a small infirmary. The second floor will contain bunks and a large communal bathroom with sinks, showers, and toilets. Water will be pumped in directly from the river, and the ventilation system will be secured and heavily filtered to prevent a gas attack on the inhabitants.
Day: 321 (Backdated)
Cost: 500 Shards, Medium Building.

Change: A print shop, with fully-automated printing and binding equipment, located between the library and the cottages. The building is patterned after this one with five sides and five big spikes on the roof, and with this sign next to the main entrance. There are two entrances. The main entrance, facing towards the Monument, is a sturdy wooden door large enough for all non-dragon residents of the Bastion to comfortably use. It leads to a rather cramped space, with an elaborate touchscreen computer console to the right and the left, each with a comfortable deerskin-covered swivel chair, and a counter with further equipment straight ahead. Above the counter is a transparent aluminum partition that provides a view of the equipment beyond. The other entrance is in the rear, and is a pair of sturdy wooden doors that open wide enough to get a pallet on a forklift through. It leads to a storage area where supplies of raw materials can be fed into the equipment and extra supplies can be stored. At creation it will contain as many supplies as the Monument will allow. The furniture and equipment inside is mostly bare wood and metal, unless such would interfere with its proper functioning, but the effect is less "spikey orky doom" and more "rustic handmade by a carpenter and a blacksmith".

The equipment is operated through the room at the front. The consoles allow selection of the desired document, the language it should be in (translated if it's not already in that language), and what form it should take. The system is preloaded with Colin's database and all written languages that the Monument knew of at the time of the print shop's creation, but if that's not enough there's a desktop publishing and image editing suite, ports and wireless connections to transfer data from other storage devices, and a device that can scan an existing book into the system, automatically turning the pages without damaging anything in the process. The print shop can create just about any printed document: hardcover and softcover books up to the size of atlases, newspapers, magazines, posters, playing cards, and just about anything else. It has a wide selection of common materials, and can even accept new ones fed into it (such as if your book simply must be bound in human skin and encrusted with gems).

Change: An external drive, in the form of a figurine of a wolf holding an odd severed arm in its jaws on a small circular base. The data can be accessed wirelessly through a datapad or the system in the print shop, and if need be it can be recharged inductively, but Rob's plan is simply to download all the data once or twice and then never access it again, so the initial charge will be more than enough. The wolf's eyes glow when data is being accessed or when it's charging. The drive contains data on Magic and Warcraft: every book, article, short story, video, artwork, and game model made by the companies involved, along with copies of all the offline-playable games and printer files for all the cards for both franchises.

The prisoners are afforded a raised portion of floor with padding on it for a bed, a small toilet, a sink with a shallow basin, and little else. The walls have a very, very minuscule slant to them designed to make the room smaller than it looks, and there is a single window with transparent aluminum covering, and bars on the exterior. The cell door is steel, with a small opening to slide trays of food through at the floor. Each cell has a light, secured behind transparent aluminum, and a camera, also secured behind transparent aluminum.

The cells are moderately sound-proofed to prevent noise from escaping, but the presence of the food slot ensures that there's at least some opportunity for prisoners to communicate, if they're willing to lay on the floor and yell. The brig is located near the Dragonfield and away from other buildings.

Change: A Squirtle egg, far enough along in its development that it will hatch before Day 343 (ideally by the end of Day 338 if possible). Rob is requesting that it have the following egg moves: Rain Dance (the whole excuse reason why he's making this purchase in the first place so it better have this move), Protect (because providing it with an impenetrable defense helps assuage the guilt inherent in bringing it into a dangerous world for the purpose of fighting against people), Surf (a Water-type move for attacking if needed is good, plus this has a useful out-of-battle effect), and Aura Sphere (possible if its father was a Clawitzer - because if you could get a Squirtle with Aura Sphere why wouldn't you?). Having useful egg moves also removes some of the pressure to have it battle just to learn useful combat moves. If possible, Rob would like it to be shiny and male, with a Docile, Mild, or other easy-to-handle nature to ease his entry into the world of Pokémon training.

A Luxury Ball with an alternate color scheme: a green upper half with dark green lines making it look like a turtle shell and a black lower half.

A Damp Rock, a held item that extends the duration of the move Rain Dance if the Pokémon holds it.

Frost Mirriam, a plant from Skyrim with the alchemy effects Resist Frost, Fortify Sneak, Ravage Magicka, and Damage Stamina Regen.

Creep Cluster, a plant from Skyrim that can be used in alchemy to get the effects Restore Magicka, Damage Stamina Regen, Fortify Carry Weight, and Weakness to Magic.

River Betty, a fish from Skyrim that can be used in alchemy to get the effects Damage Health, Fortify Alteration, Slow, and Fortify Carry Weight.

Histcarp, a fish from Skyrim that can be used in alchemy to get the effects Restore Stamina, Fortify Magicka, Damage Stamina Regen, and Waterbreathing.

The Skyrim breed of Chicken, the eggs of which can be used in alchemy to get the effects Resist Magic, Damage Magicka Regen, Waterbreathing, and Lingering Damage Stamina. These will go in the animal pen, preferably in a different area than the existing chickens if there are multiple sections to the pen (Rob does not want an avian version of Bunnygeddon on his hands this time).

Day: Day 337 (backdated)
Cost: 200 (animal) + 100 (complex unique item) + 100 (complex unique item) + 100 (small plant) + 100 (small plant) + 200 (animal) + 200 (animal) + 200 (animal) = 1200

Aoi will be paying for all this.

Name: Rob Edwards
Change: An imitation of a Myr Servitor from Magic: the Gathering, a 2-foot-tall magically animated machine with basic welding equipment in its hands. Like the Dwarven Spider (and probably copied from it) the Myr Servitor can reassemble itself even if it's scattered into pieces and, through observation or instruction, will learn about and repair mechanical devices or architecture. While it is capable of fighting, it's not by any means a powerful combatant and will avoid danger unless ordered otherwise. By touching it and saying "Unsummon" it can be transformed into a Pokéball-sized sphere similar to this one, only intact and colored to match its normal form. It can be returned to its normal form by touching the sphere and saying "Summon Myr Servitor". As a "Myr", everything it sees is magically broadcast in a form that can only be picked up by an item specifically made to do so.

An imitation of the Reflecting Mirror from Magic: the Gathering, and in this incarnation the aforementioned item specifically made to pick up signals from Myr. If it's not being actively used it will act as a normal mirror, with the slight difference that it only reflects bone, even if said bone is hidden by flesh or a container (meaning that as an unintended side-effect it can function like an X-Ray machine). With focus a user can make it function as a normal mirror, but its main purpose is revealed when a user focuses on a specific Myr, at which point the surface of the mirror displays what that Myr is seeing. The user can then give the Myr orders remotely, which will override any other orders it has or is being given. An arbitrary number of feeds from individual Myr can be viewed at once so long as the user can maintain focus on them all, but as this is accomplished through a split-screen viewing too many at once causes all of the feeds to become so small as to be useless. The user can store copies of their memories in the mirror for later retrieval by themselves or another user, both to allow "recording" of footage and the user's impressions of it and to allow covert "notetaking", although Rob isn't placing any limits on what can be recorded (because he's also copying one of the abilities of the Reflecting Mirror in the novels here). Additionally, as a triggered active ability, if a spell (or ranged energy-based Pokémon move) strikes the reflective surface of the mirror it will be reflected back at the original caster. Only the reflective surface will cause this to happen, and only for whatever part of the spell strikes it, though the entire mirror is as durable as the Monument will make it (the spell reflection is another ability Rob's trying to copy, though considering how small the mirror is it's not likely to be easy to make this work effectively).

(Both of the previous items are being made as test runs to make sure that the Monument creates them properly before Rob tries to make more Myr, but he hopes that if one or both of them fail to work correctly they'll at least have some use.)

An imitation of the Magic: the Gathering card Training Grounds. This is a pair of stone hedrons that, when active, slowly rotate around the midpoint between the two of them, tracing a glowing circle on the ground. Within that circle, abilities have no costs to use or limits to their daily use, whether from their native worlds or the Bastion's own limits. However, no ability used within the circle can affect anything outside the circle in any way, nor can they affect the hedrons themselves. By touching a hedron (easy to do even if they're moving), they can be activated, deactivated, or mentally directed to slowly move to a desired pair of positions. The size of the training grounds can be adjusted between the size of a small room and the size of a stadium field.

A small lens tinted to look like an eagle's eye in which a tiny model of an orc watchtower can be seen, set in a red-dyed wooden frame shaped like the Horde emblem and hanging from a length of braided leather cord. When held and the words "Build Watch Tower" spoken, the lens will float into the air and the orc watchtower seen in the lens will materialize, the lens hanging from the ceiling of the hut on top. Within the hut is a small braizer, two simple lanterns, a spyglass, a warhorn, and some furs to sleep on, with none of the other frills shown in the images. The braizer and lanterns require no fuel and can be lit or extinguished simply by touching them and wishing them so. While the lens is as indestructible as the Monument will make it, the watchtower is only as durable as normal wood and hides. The watchtower is also a magical construct and only exists so long as the lens is within a few feet of it; if the lens is moved too far from the watchtower the tower will vanish, as will any of the items or pieces of the watchtower if they're moved too far away. Regardless of any damage the tower sustains, the next time it's created it will whole and undamaged, with any missing items in it as usual. Rob's trying to make this so they can quickly set up a watchtower at the Ura camp, or anywhere else they might need one.

Change: An Everstone, a held item that prevents the Pokémon who holds it from evolving.
Day: 337 (backdated)
Cost: 100 (complex unique item)

Name: Rob Edwards
Change: An imitation of the Headdress of the First Shaman from World of Warcraft, the design following the artwork more than the in-game model. This is a dark brown wolf pelt that is worn over the head, with the wearer looking through the eye sockets. The eyes always appear to be glowing red-orange, but they don't actually illuminate anything and aren't any easier to see in the dark than the rest of the headdress, nor is the glow visible to the wearer.
Passive Abilities:
- Despite appearing to be a simple pelt, it's as resistant to damage as the Monument will make it and thus functions as armor for the head and back, though it only protects against penetration; if the wearer is shot, the bullet itself won't go through, but the force of the impact will, which may still cause injury. Scents and dirt will wash off of it easily.
- The wearer ignores the effects of natural environmental conditions (Pokémon moves that alter the weather and fireball spells are not "natural", for example) and remains at a comfortable temperature and supplied with clean, disease-free air at all times, even when wearing a heavy fur would be uncomfortable or ineffective, such as in a desert or in the vacuum of space. The wearer will still tan normally underneath the pelt, exactly as if they weren't wearing it.
- It resizes to fit whoever wears it and won't fall off on its own no matter what kind of tumbling around occurs or how losely it's worn, nor can it be removed by someone else without the wearer's consent.
- The wearer's gaze is filtered when looking through the headdress's eyes, acting as sunglasses when needed, but with the unintentional side-effect of preventing blindness from bright flashes of light and preventing gaze attacks from passing through in either direction.
- As long as the headress is actually being worn over the head, the wearer's voice is always at the volume they want it to be, within human limits.
- The wearer can mentally control the headdress's ears and raise its hackles as long as the headress is being worn over the head.
Active Ability:
- The wearer can use "Sight Beyond Sight", causing their point of view to shift to any location within line of sight. This simply changes where their sense of sight is perceiving the world from, leaving all other senses and bodily functions unaffected (trying to walk around with this effect active is just asking for trouble). If the wearer turns in place their viewpoint will rotate, exactly as if they were standing in the target location. The wearer can switch between their target viewpoint and their normal viewpoint at will, though the target location can't be changed without re-using the ability. (Although Rob had the Monument create the headdress without any such limitations, this ability will have a maximum duration of 5 minutes and will follow the 3/day rule.)

A functioning replica of this warhorn, made from the materials you'd expect something like that to be made of. You can get some good volume out of it.

Change: An imitation of a Coretapper from Magic: the Gathering, a two-and-a-half-foot-tall magically animated machine. As an active ability the Coretapper can draw energy from a surrounding source (draining batteries, magic from an item, power output from a generator, etc.) and redirect it, whether to charge or power another item (transforming the energy into the proper form for the destination item in the process), discharge it as a bolt of lightning, or simply retain it for use in powering itself. Alternatively it can recharge or power another item off of its own internal power supply. While it will avoid danger unless ordered otherwise, if attacked and has no orders to the contrary it will attempt to draw energy from any weapons or items its attacker is carrying and firing it back as a bolt of lightning. If this proves impossible or ineffective it will attempt to flee unless it has orders to the contrary. By touching it and saying "Unsummon" it can be transformed into a Pokéball-sized sphere similar to this one, only intact and colored to match its normal form. It can be returned to its normal form by touching the sphere and saying "Summon Coretapper". As a "Myr", everything it sees is magically broadcast in a form that can only be picked up by an item specifically made to do so, such as the Reflecting Mirror.

An imitation of a Hovermyr from Magic: the Gathering, a magically animated machine with the ability to silently hover and fly. Its vision is excellent and it always pays close attention to its surroundings, ensuring that anyone viewing what it's seeing is unlikely to miss anything. The Hovermyr has sufficient agility and internal storage space to catch, carry, and transport flying insects without harming them (not that this is likely to be useful here but Rob's once again trying to copy the source material). It's not a particularly strong combatant and will attempt to avoid danger unless ordered otherwise. By touching it and saying "Unsummon" it can be transformed into a Pokéball-sized sphere similar to this one, only intact and colored to match its normal form. It can be returned to its normal form by touching the sphere and saying "Summon Hovermyr". As a "Myr", everything it sees is magically broadcast in a form that can only be picked up by an item specifically made to do so, such as the Reflecting Mirror.

An imitation of a Shimmer Myr from Magic: the Gathering, a two-and-a-half-foot-tall magically animated machine that appears to be made out of liquid mercury, though it is in fact solid. It's extremely fast and agile, and as an active ability it can gain super speed for up to five minutes and is able to carry nonliving items along for the ride without them being damaged. It's a decent combatant, but is primarily a scout and courier and thus avoids danger unless ordered otherwise. By touching it and saying "Unsummon" it can be transformed into a Pokéball-sized sphere similar to this one, only intact and colored to match its normal form. It can be returned to its normal form by touching the sphere and saying "Summon Shimmer Myr". As a "Myr", everything it sees is magically broadcast in a form that can only be picked up by an item specifically made to do so, such as the Reflecting Mirror.
